European security and healthcare were among the main topics discussed during the Prime Minister’s meeting with the President of Finland
On Tuesday 5 May 2026, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš met with Alexander Stubb, President of the Republic of Finland, at the Straka Academy. The main topics of discussion were the current geopolitical situation, cooperation in the defence industry and the security situation in Europe. They also discussed cooperation in the field of healthcare.

Security and energy cooperation as key topics at the 8th European Political Community Summit in Yerevan
The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babiš, visited the Republic of Armenia on 3 and 4 May 2026, attending the 8th summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan. The main topics of the summit were energy and economic security, the current geopolitical situation and strengthening stability in Europe. The summit included a number of bilateral meetings.

The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babiš, together with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade, Karel Havlíček, visited Uzbekistan from 29 to 30 April 2026. The delegation was accompanied by a business mission comprising around 50 representatives of Czech companies. The programme also included participation in a Czech-Uzbek business forum, meetings with the country’s top officials and visits to industrial enterprises. The Škoda Group has signed a contract worth billions for the supply and maintenance of electric trains.

Prime Minister Babiš held talks in Kazakhstan on oil supplies and strengthening economic ties
Prime Minister Andrej Babiš continues his tour of Central Asian countries. He visited Kazakhstan on Tuesday 28 April and Wednesday 29 April 2026. In the capital, Astana, he held talks with the President of the Republic, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the Prime Minister, Olzhas Bektenov, focusing primarily on economic issues, including oil and uranium supplies, and, together with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, he also visited the International Centre for Artificial Intelligence and the National Scientific Centre for Cardiac Surgery, and officially opened the Czech-Kazakh Business Forum, attended by 200 businesspeople from both countries.

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš held talks in Azerbaijan on ways to secure gas supplies
Prime Minister Andrej Babiš began his five-day working visit to Central Asia and the South Caucasus with a visit to Azerbaijan. This is his first trip abroad outside the EU. Among other things, he discussed oil and natural gas supplies to the Czech Republic with the country’s president, Ilham Aliyev. Together with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Industry and Trade, Karel Havlíček, he attended the Azerbaijan-Czech Business Forum, which was attended by nearly 130 representatives of companies from both countries. The Prime Minister is accompanied on the trip by a business delegation comprising 50 businesspeople.

On Tuesday 21 April 2026, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš, visited Siemens Healthineers in Forchheim, Germany, home to one of the company’s key development and manufacturing centres specialising in modern healthcare technologies. During his visit, he held talks with the company’s management and toured its premises.

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš received NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the Straka Academy on Thursday 16 April 2026. The main topic of the meeting was the upcoming important NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, in July, as well as the current situation in the Middle East and its security implications.

Czech Slovak government meeting reaffirmed the strengthening of the partnership between the two countries
The ninth joint meeting of the governments of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic took place at Nová Horka Castle in Studénka on Tuesday 31 March 2026. The cabinets, led by Prime Ministers Andrej Babiš and Robert Fico, discussed, among other things, the current situation regarding fuel prices and oil supplies following the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East. The Prime Ministers of the two countries also signed a Memorandum of Enhanced Cooperation between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Slovak Republic, which strengthens the mutual partnership in key areas.

Prime Minister Babiš following the European Council meeting: We have succeeded in pushing through a revision of the emission allowance system
On Thursday, 19 March 2026, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended a meeting of the European Council in Brussels. EU leaders discussed in particular the strengthening of European competitiveness and high energy prices. The Prime Minister emphasised that the Czech Republic succeeded in pushing the need for a change to the ETS 1 emission allowance system into the summit conclusions—the European Commission will submit a proposal for a revision of the system by June. The situation in the Middle East was also an important topic. Before the start of the summit, the Prime Minister also took part in a meeting of leaders of like-minded countries on the topic of migration.
