At its meeting held on Monday, 4 March 2019, Andrej Babiš’s cabinet approved a change of the Government’s spokesperson. Petra Doležalová, who asked to be relieved to commence maternal leave, will be replaced by Jana Adamcová, effective from 4 March 2019.

Aleš Chmelař became the new Secretary of State for European Affairs
Today, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka installed the new Secretary of State for European Affairs, Aleš Chmelař. From now on, he is the Deputy for the administration of the Department for European Affairs at the Office of the Government. In addition to the role of the Secretary of State for European Affairs, Aleš Chmelař will also be Prime Minister’s assistant, who represents the Czech government at the preparatory talks in Brussels.

25th anniversary of the foundation of the Visegrad Group
On Monday, February 15, 2016 elapses 25 years since the establishment of the Visegrad Group, an alliance of four Central European countries: The Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. Prague summit of the Visegrad countries will be held on this occasion. Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, Prime Minister of Poland Beata Szydlová, Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban and Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico will meet leaders of Macedonia and Bulgaria. The main topics of the summit will be the migration crisis and V4 cooperation with the Balkan countries.
