Exhibition 1 - 10 June 2007: Karel and Nadezhda Kramář at home

Organizer: Office of the Government of the Czech Republic

Cooperation: National Museum – Department of Older Czech History

National Museum Archive

The exhibition was opened on 31 May 2007 in the presence of Mirek Topolánek, members of the Cabinet and directors of cultural and academic institutions. On 1 June, the exhibition opened to the public. In the billiards room, visitors had the chance to view 132 exhibits that once belonged to the Kramářs, along with a priceless piece of jewellery – Nadezhda Kramářová’s diamond necklace. The exhibition also included digitized archive documents.

As capacity was limited, a booking system was introduced in liaison with the Public Relations Department. Visitors entered the villa at half-hourly intervals in groups of 30 – 50 at a time. The exhibition was extended until 10 June 2007 due to the keen public interest.

The exhibition attracted 7,500 visitors; approximately 350 guests (diplomats, members of the government, senators, members of Parliament, the press, etc.) visited the exhibition on guided individual or group tours.

The Czech Television also broadcast information about the exhibition on the day of the preview.

A visitors book was available for comments – selected entries are attached.
