Publishing House of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic
On 30 January 2003, the Office of the Government (henceforth the "Government") became the publisher of non-periodical publications, and, in doing so, joined the international system of standard book numbering – ISBN.
The Publishing House of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic specializes primarily in publishing the documents issued in the activities of the advisory and working bodies of the Government. Among these are such things as annual reports, summary studies and situation analyses in areas of human rights, anti-drug policy, issues of ethnicity, science and research, etc. Reports on subsidy programmes and the Government's strategic and policy documents make up an important share.
In connection with the Czech Republic's presidency of the Council of the EU, the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic is publishing materials specializing on presenting the European Union and its priorities.
Among its important publishing activities are the publications on the history of the buildings the Government uses and on the personalities and events tied to the history of the Czech government and the Czech Republic. These publications are published in Czech and English, and are frequently used as representative gifts to the prime minister's guests and partners.
The scope of duties connected to the Government's publishing activities is provided in accordance with the Organisational Regulations of the Government Information Center of the Office of the Government.
