Government has agreed to temporarily waive VAT on respirators and to extend support for food producers

Sellers will be able to reduce prices on respirators in class FFP2 and higher. On Monday, 1 February 2021, Andrej Babiš’s cabinet charged the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance to issue a decision exempting those products temporarily from the value added tax. The government also endorsed an extension of the Agricovid Food Production subsidy scheme of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The government has made adjustments to the measures, and further restrictions on the use of hotel services or contacts will be ordered from Saturday

From Saturday 30 January, crisis measures aiming to limit the spread of the covid-19 epidemic will partially change in the Czech Republic. The government of Andrej Babiš agreed at this fact at an extraordinary meeting on Thursday, 28 January 2021.

Government Approves State Guaranteed Loans for Hotel Proprietors

At its 25 January 2021 session, the Government approved an amendment to a Government resolution, by which operators of accommodation facilities are now eligible for a bank loan with a State guarantee from Export Guarantee & Insurance Corp.

Government extends duration of state of emergency until 14 February, will allow children's groups to run

The state of emergency in the Czech Republic will now apply until 14 February. Backed by the consent of the Chamber of Deputies, the Andrej Babiš cabinet made the decision to extend it at a special meeting on Friday 22 January 2021.

Government to request that Chamber of Deputies extend state of emergency until 21 February, approves further assistance programmes for businesses

The government will ask the Chamber of Deputies to extend the state of emergency for another 30 days, i.e. until 21 February. The wording of the request was approved by the Andrej Babiš cabinet at a meeting on Monday 18 January 2021.

Government acquaints itself with vaccination strategy for the Czech Republic, vaccination sites must start reporting on vaccine consumption

At a special meeting on Wednesday 13 January 2021, the Andrej Babiš government discussed the Methodological Guidelines for the Vaccination Campaign for the Czech Republic, which was produced by the Ministry of Health. It also approved the issuing of two Ministry of Health extraordinary measures, which will allow all health insurance clients in the Czech Republic free vaccination against COVID-19 and laid down the obligation for vaccination sites to input fundamental information about the use of vaccines into a central database.

Government approves aid to operators of ski resorts, students do not need to tax remuneration for work during work duties

Operators of ski resorts will receive compensation for the period of time they could not operate their ski lifts and chair lifts as a result of government decrees. The Government approved the launch of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s relevant subsidy programme at its meeting on Monday, 11 January 2021. It also decided that students and other persons who are working either as a result of mandated work duties or voluntarily as part of the Government’s crisis measures, will not have to tax the remuneration for this work.

Government extends force of emergency measures to 22 January; antigen tests also to continue to be provided free of charge

The Government’s emergency measures corresponding to Level 5 of the PES anti-epidemic system will be in force until 22 January. The Andrej Babiš administration decided to extend them by twelve days at an extraordinary session held on Thursday, 7 January 2021.

Government approves further aid for closed premises, wants to extend easier administration of social benefits during pandemic

Businessmen who have had to close their premises since October as a result of the government decree will receive additional financial assistance from the state to the value of CZK 400 per employee. This was approved by the government of Andrej Babiš at its first meeting of the New Year on Monday, 4 January 2021.

Government extends state of emergency for a further 30 days, with more stringent measures to take effect on 27 December

The state of emergency in the Czech Republic, declared due to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic, will now be in effect until 22 January 2021. Its fourth extension, for 30 days, was ruled on by the government of Andrej Babiš at an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday,23 December 2020, based on prior consent given by the Chamber of Deputies. The government has also decided to tighten the crisis measures taken in view of the transition to level 5 of the PES anti-epidemic system, which will take place on Sunday 27 December.
