Prime Minister

The prime minister calls meetings of the government by sending a programme of the meeting with its designated date and place to all members of the government. In his absence, he is represented by the deputy prime minister or other authorised minister. The prime minister is named by the president on the basis of election results, and, based on the prime minister's proposal the president then names the other members of the government (e.g. the ministers). The prime minister turns in his resignation to the president of the Czech Republic.
