Prime Minister Petr Nečas visits Czech troops in Afghanistan

At the weekend Prime Minister Petr Nečas made his first visit to Czech troops in Afghanistan. He spent Saturday at the base of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Kabul, then moved on Sunday to the Shank base in Logar.

Prime Minister Petr Nečas stresses the role of Czech diplomacy

In a speech delivered at a meeting with the country's ambassadors on Tuesday, the prime minister emphasized the importance of Czech diplomatic missions, particularly in view of their support for Czech exporters, and mentioned the current situation in the European Union and cooperation within the Visegrad Group.

June European Council focused on Growth Agenda and Eurozone Situation

A European Council meeting was held in Brussels on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th June 2012. The Czech Delegation was led by Prime Minister Nečas. Multiple topics were included in the agenda, but the main focus rested on the debate about solutions to the current Eurozone problems and about measures to revive economic growth.

NOTICE June 22, 2012: Meeting of the Prime Ministers of the Visegrad Group in Prague

On Friday 22 June, Prague is to host a formal summit of prime ministers of the Visegrad Group countries. The Czech Republic, which has stood at the head of the group since last July, will hand over the presidency to Poland.

It is necessary to maintain the amount of financial resources for the less developed EU regions since these resources stimulate growth. Such a conclusion evolved from today´s meeting of the Friends of Cohesion group in Bucharest, which was attended by the Czech Prime Minister Petr Nečas.
