ADVICE 5 November 2019: Prime Minister Andrej Babiš will welcome representatives of countries associated in the Friends of Cohesion group
The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babiš, will host a summit of the Friends of Cohesion group on Tuesday, 5 November. The purpose of the meeting is to enhance cooperation among member countries in the final stage of negotiations on the long-term EU budget for the upcoming period. The summit will be attended by 16 EU Member States, mainly the cohesion countries and States of the south EU wing.

Prime Minister Babiš discusses expansion and the EU budget at the European Council
The Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš continued his talks with the leaders of the other member states at the European Council’s meeting. During their working dinner on Thursday they discussed EU expansion and external relations. On Friday 18 October 2019 they then talked about the EU’s multiannual financial framework and various institutional matters.

The Prime Minister after talks on Brexit: the Czech Republic will only support the United Kingdom’s departure with a deal
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš is attending an EU summit on Thursday 17 and Friday 18 October 2019, where the main topic of discussions so far between the leaders of the member states has been Brexit. At the talks a new agreement has been agreed for the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union.

The Prime Minister presents awards for the most responsible foreign investors
On Monday 14 October 2019 Škoda Auto Board Member Bohdan Wojnar received the Responsible Foreign Investor award from Prime Minister Andrej Babiš at Lichtenštejnský Palace. This is the first year in which the government has decided to present awards to companies with foreign capital for the exceptional contribution their investments have made to the Czech economy.

On Monday, 14 October 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš received the Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Sen, in Kramář’s Villa. The meeting between the Prime Minister and the delegation took the form of a working lunch.

President of the Republic received Highest Constitutional Officials of the Czech Republic, talked about foreign policy
On Thursday 10 October, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended a regular meeting of the highest constitutional officials at the invitation of the President of the Republic, Miloš Zeman. The meeting at Prague Castle was attended by Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Jaroslav Kubera, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Radek Vondráček, Minister of Foreign Affairs Tomáš Petříček, Minister of Defence Lubomír Metnar and Minister of Interior Jan Hamáček. The topic of the meeting was the foreign policy of the Czech Republic.

Prime Minister Babiš talks to the Prime Minister of Finland Antti Rinne about current European issues
The Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš met with the Finnish Prime Minister Antti Rinne on Monday 30 September 2019. The topics they discussed at Hrzánský Palace included the current status and next steps in preparing the multiannual financial framework for 2021–2027, climate protection, migration and Brexit.

The Prime Minister ends his visit to the USA at the memorial to the victims at Ground Zero
On 27 September Prime Minister Andrej Babiš ended his visit to the United States. He and his wife Monika visited a memorial and museum dedicated to the victims of the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001. He also met with the Special Envoy for the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS and had talks with Syria’s Foreign Minister.
