Open Day at the Straka Academy on 4 September 2010
Gates of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic will be open again to the public on 4 September 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m.
Visitor will have a unique opportunity to see the exhibition of Jiří Sozanský called Day Twenty Seven which commemorates the 60th anniversary of the execution of Milada Horáková, Záviš Kalandra, Jan Buchal and dr. Oldřich Pecl. The exhibition consists of collages, large-sized paintings and sculptures in the interior of the Straka Academy, and of the sculpture Mater Mortis in front of the main entrance of the building.
Part of the excursion will be the projection of the film on residences of prime ministers the Kramář Villa in Prague, the Villa of Hana and Edvard Beneš in Sezimovo Ústí, and palaces under the administration of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic the Lichtenstein palace at Kampa island and Hrzán palace in Loretánská Street.
Of course, also the garden of the Straka Academy will be open to the public and in this connection we would like to inform visitors that for the duration of the Open Day, the entry will be possible only through the main entrance. The gate at Kosárkovo nábřeží will be reserved only for visitors leaving the venue.
