Prime Minister Fiala after the negotiation of the Coalition of the Willing: The financing of the Russian war machine must be prevented
On Friday, 24 October 2025, Prime Minister Petr Fiala participated via videoconference in a meeting of the leaders of the so-called Coalition of the Willing hosted by the United Kingdom. The leaders discussed, among other things, economic pressure on Russia and further support for Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also attended the meeting in London.
"There is a consensus among states that a ceasefire should be reached as soon as possible on the line of contact. It is essential that we prevent the financing of the Russian war machine, in particular by putting pressure on the Russian energy sector. It is also necessary to support Ukraine in its ability to hit the Russian energy network and military-industrial complex deep in the Russian territory," Prime Minister Petr Fiala said after the meeting.
