Prime Minister Fiala after the negotiation of the Coalition of the Willing: If we want peace in Europe, we must not compromise with aggressors
On Thursday, 10 July 2025, the Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala participated in a video-conference with leaders of countries of the Coalition of the Willing hosted by the United Kingdom. The leaders discussed, in particular, the possibilities of a cease-fire, further military support for Ukraine and economic pressure on Russia. For the first time, the US representatives also attended the negotiation.
"Today we held the biggest meeting of the Coalition of the Willing so far. The negotiation was attended by more than thirty countries, even by the United States for the first time. If we want peace in Europe, we must not compromise with aggressors. That is why we had a very specific debate about sanctions, military supplies, and most importantly, about how to get Russia to agree to a cease-fire and to come to the negotiating table," said Prime Minister Petr Fiala after the negotiation.
