Michal Šalomoun
Minister of Legislation and chairman of the Government Legislative Council
Michal Šalomoun was born in Třebíč, where he graduated from the local grammar school. Subsequently he gained a doctorate in law at the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University in Brno. After his studies he worked as a lawyer for the Regional Office of Vysočina Region. Two years later he left to become a private lawyer, first as a law clerk before subsequently starting his own practice. From time to time he collaborates with the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University in Brno as an external lecturer in the area of intellectual property rights.
In this field of intellectual property rights, he has published several treatises such as Ochrana názvů, postav a příběhů uměleckých děl (Legal protection of titles, characters and stories works of art), he is the co-author of a comprehensive legal review on the Copyright Act. In connection with the adoption of the GDPR he became a data protection officer for several public entities (Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts, College of Polytechnics Jihlava, several towns). He is the author of an educational course for public administration concerning personal data, as well as several online projects for the public, which for example allow people to generate standard contracts for free.
During the electoral term of 2010–2014 he worked as a representative and councilor of the town of Třebíč.
He and his partner have one son together.
