Jan Mládek
Personal Information
Ing. Jan Mládek CSc., born 1st June 1960 v Jindřichův Hradec. Married, with three daughters and two sons.
Education
In 1983 completed his studies at the Prague University of Economics, awarded the title of CSc. in 1990 at the Forecasting Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences.
Professional and Public Activities
Member of ČSSD since 1995.
From June 1999 to May 2001 – 1st Deputy Minister of Finance.
From September 1999 to September 2001, Vice-Governor of the IMF for the Czech Republic, Washington, DC.
June 2001 to June 2002 – Director of the Czech Institute for Applied Economics, s.r.o.
September 2004 to November 2005 – economic advisor to the Prime Minister, June 2002 to December 2005, Deputy in the Czech Parliament.
From November 2005 to September 2006 Minister of Agriculture, also Chairman of the Presidium of the Czech Land Fund.
From October 2006 – Director of the Czech Institute for Applied Economics, s.r.o.
From April 2008 to July 2009 Director of the Masaryk Workers Academy, o.s.
From March 2007 Chairman of the FONTES RERUM cooperative.
