Education

He studied economics and foreign trade management at the University of Economics in Prague.

Professional and public activity

František Koníček worked in various management positions in the Czech Republic as well as in Sweden and Germany. These included the post of CEO of Intersigma, Chairman of the Board at Sigma Lutín, deputy minister for economics of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, and CEO of Lesy České republiky. He was also active in municipal politics and was also a Member of Parliament for the Social Democrats (ČSSD).

He speaks English, German, Spanish and Russian, and understands Swedish, Norwegian and Portuguese.
