State Secretary Belling was awarded for benefiting to the European cooperation development
At the end of the first day of an international conference dedicated to eastern partnership („From Eastern Partnership to the Association – The Great Debate“), which was co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Czech Association for European Studies, an award ceremony took place in Czernin Palace granting an award to those vindicating to the development of scientific research in the field of European studies or contributing to the European cooperation development. Apart from prof. Jiří Malenovský, long-time member of the Court of Justice of the European Union, the Czech Association for European Studies awarded Vojtěch Belling who holds a posititon of State Secretary for European Affairs since 2011.
In the case of Vojtěch Belling it were not only his extensive publication and academic activities that were awarded but also his long-time work in the civil service. Vojtěch Belling entered the European section of the Office of the Government already in 2009 when Štefan Füle was the Minister for European Affairs. Previously he had worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
The Czech Association for European Studies grants its awards annualy in two categories. It is a prestigious scientific institution and a part of the academic network ECSA – World.
