The Czech Republic contributed to the breakthrough agreement on the EU climate-energy package
On Thursday, October 23rd, the heads of state and heads of government of the EU Member States reached agreement on the form of a new climate-energy package to the year 2030. The Czech Republic, represented at the two-day summit in Brussels by Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, also contributed to the long-term goals of the EU in the areas of energy and the climate.

Czech-Israeli intergovernmental consultations are going to be held in Jerusalem
Prime Minister Sobotka will together with other members of the Cabinet visit the State of Israel, where Czech-Israeli intergovernmental consultations will take place on 25 November 2014.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić will visit the Czech Republic on 31 October 2014 upon an invitation of Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Bohuslav Sobotka.

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka held talks with the Macedonian Prime Minister, Nikola Gruevski
On Thursday 2 October, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Bohuslav Sobotka, met the Prime Minister of Macedonia, Nikola Gruevski, who had arrived in the Czech Republic for a three-day visit at the invitation of the Czech Prime Minister. In addition to the Prime Minister, Mr Gruevski is also meeting with the President of the CR, Miloš Zeman today. After bilateral talks, both Prime Ministers attended the launch of the Seminar on investment and business opportunities in Macedonia.

Prime Minister Sobotka met with the Minister-President of the Free State of Saxony, Tillich
On Wednesday, 1 October 2014, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Bohuslav Sobotka met with the Minister-President of the Free State of Saxony, Stanislaw Tilich. Together they discussed the extension of police cooperation, drug policy and the development of the road transport infrastructure.

Prime Minister Sobotka congratulated the new Secretary General of NATO on his new office
Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka sent a congratulatory letter to Jens Stoltenberg, who took up the post of Secretary General of NATO on 1 October 2014. The Prime Minister wished the former Norwegian Prime Minister every success in his new role.

On 18 September 2014, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the CR, Lubomír Zaorálek, approved the provision of immediate financial assistance to Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
