Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met US Vice-President Joe Biden at the White House on 18 November 2014. The meeting, held at 1:30 p.m. as part of the PM's visit to the United States, was also attended by the chairman of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, Jan Hamáček.

On Thursday 13 November 2014, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka opened the first conference in the National Convent on the EU project, called A European Vision for the Czech Republic. The new platform is intended to intensify the dialogue on European issues and to involve the wider public in discussions on Europe.

On Tuesday 11 October 2014, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović , who arrived on his first official visit to the Czech Republic. One of the most important topics of the meeting involved sharing experiences of the electronic recording of sales. The two leaders also discussed cooperation in trade, investments, energy security, culture and support for the activities of expatriate communities.

The EU summit debated the supplementary budget; the CR supports compliance with the rules
On Friday 24 October 2014, European leaders discussed the supplementary contribution of funds to the common EU budget at a summit in Brussels. The adjustment statistics released by Eurostat means that the Czech Republic is required to make supplementary financial transfers, but it will also receive certain payments under the amending budget.

The Czech Republic contributed to the breakthrough agreement on the EU climate-energy package
On Thursday, October 23rd, the heads of state and heads of government of the EU Member States reached agreement on the form of a new climate-energy package to the year 2030. The Czech Republic, represented at the two-day summit in Brussels by Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, also contributed to the long-term goals of the EU in the areas of energy and the climate.
