The third joint meeting between the Czech and Slovak governments confirmed the excellent relations existing between the two countries

On Tuesday 12 May 2015, Valtice Castle in southern Moravia hosted the third joint meeting of the Czech and Slovak governments. Members of the government cabinets of both countries, headed by Prime Ministers Bohuslav Sobotka and Robert Fico, discussed current issues being addressed by individual ministries and stepping up cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Sobotka held talks with prominent German investors on stepping up cooperation

On Monday 4 May 2015, at the beginning of his official visit to Berlin, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met 21 major German investors. Discussions with the Prime Minister were attended by representatives of companies such as ŠKODA AUTO, SIEMENS AG, Volkswagen AG, Airbus Group, Heinkel CR and E.ON Czech Republic.

The 2015 National Reform Programme Sets out a Plan of Key Measures to Support Economic Growth and Job Creation

The Cabinet has approved the National Reform Programme of the Czech Republic for the year 2015 at a meeting of the Committee for the European Union held today. The document defines the concept of the national economic policy and sets out key measures for stimulating economic growth and employment in the Czech Republic. Measures proposed in the reform programme have been formulated with a view to conforming to the principle of responsible fiscal management.

The Czech Republic to send a team of medical specialists to the earthquake-stricken Nepal

The Cabinet decided today to dispatch relief to Nepal, following a devastating earthquake that has claimed thousands of lives in the last several days. The Czech Republic will send a team of medical trauma specialists who will remain in the affected area for at least 14 days.

Prime Minister Sobotka in intergovernmental consultations: Czech-Polish relations are strategically important

On Monday 20 April 2015, the Czech Government Office hosted the third round of intergovernmental consultations between the Czech Republic and Poland. Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, his Polish counterpart Ewa Kopacz, the two countries’ defence, interior, transport and environment ministers, and their deputy industry and agriculture ministers discussed common themes. These consultations have resulted in a joint declaration by the prime ministers, an agreement between the environment ministries, and a memorandum between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Poland.
