Prime Minister Sobotka attends the annual meeting of the Czech-Israeli Chamber of Commerce

On Tuesday, 24 November 2016 the Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka attended the celebratory meeting of the Czech-Israeli Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its foundation. The Prime Minister appreciated especially the twenty years of active work of the Chamber, which is also one of the longest-functioning Chambers of Commerce in the Czech Republic.

The Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka meets in the Straka Academy with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden

On Friday 11 November 2016 the Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met at the Czech Office of the Government with the Speaker of the Swedish Parliament, Urban Ahlin. They discussed in particular European issues, inter alia the renewal of the social and economic convergence within the European Union and the development of a digital single market. Both statesmen also appraised the Czech-Swedish inter-parliamentary cooperation and the cooperation of Sweden with the Visegrad Group.

Prime Minister Sobotka holds talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran

On Friday 11 November 2016 Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met at Straka Academy with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif. Together they held talks on the deepening of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. Another item of discussion was the development of relationships in other areas of mutual interest and solutions to the current situation in the Near East.

Prime Minister Sobotka Met With Czech Businessmen And Serbian Prime Minister Vučić In Riga

Sunday, 6 November 2016, saw the continuation of Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka’s visit to Latvia, where he attended the Summit of Central and Eastern European Countries and China. In the morning, he met with representatives of the business delegation, and later with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, followed by a visit to Bauska Castle, which is currently hosting an exhibition about Charles IV.

The government of the Czech Republic continues to intensify cooperation with the People’s Republic of China and fulfil the strategic partnership between both countries. At today’s 16+1 Summit of Central and Easter European countries and China, the government representative of the Czech Republic and government representatives of the People’s Republic of China signed a plan of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Silk Road initiative.

Prime Minister Sobotka Pursues Further Development Of Czech-Chinese Trade and Tourism Relations At The 16+1 Summit In Riga

Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka has continued to pursue the development of relations with the People’s Republic of China while attending the Summit of 16 prime ministers from Central and Easter Europe and China being held in Riga, Latvia. During its term in office, the coalition government of ČSSD, ANO and KDU-ČSL has managed significantly to improve relations through intensive work. The highlight of these efforts is the establishment of a strategic partnership between both countries, which was conclude this March on the occasion of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Prague.
