Premier Bohuslav Sobotka met with the President of the Senate of Chile, Andrés Zaldívar Larraín
Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met on 5 December 2017 in the House of Deputies of the Czech Parliament with the President of the Senate of the National Congress of the Republic of Chile, Zaldívar Larraín. They spoke mainly about economic cooperation between the two countries, climate protection, cooperation of the European Union with Chile and the current foreign policy issues concerning Latin America.

Prime Minister Sobotka: We promote a digital public administration model as a service that is easily available to citizens and safe
Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka participated in the Digital Summit of EU leaders on Thursday and Friday, 28 and 29 September 2017. At the informal dealing, the European statesmen dealt with the themes of innovation, cyber security, computerisation of public administration or free flow of data. The informal summit was preceded by a Thursday dinner of the EU state heads and prime ministers of governments, which was devoted to the progress in the European Union reform.

Visit of Myanmar/Burmese state counselor Aung San Suu Kyi postponed
On 29 September 2017, the Czech diplomacy received the information that Aung San Suu Kyi, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Myanmar/Burma state counsellor, postpones the visit to the Czech Republic, originally planned for October 2017. The reason is the current situation in the Rakhine State and the need for her presence in the country.

Prime Minister Sobotka talks with Italian Prime Minister Gentilion on wage convergence, future of the EU and business co-operation
On Thursday, 7 September 2017, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy, Paolo Gentilini, at the Straka Academy. The Czech and Slovak governments meet at the Lednice Chateau, where they discuss anniversary celebrations in 2018
At Lednice Chateau, the fifth joint meeting of the Czech and Slovak Governments took place on Monday, 4 September 2017. Ministers under the leadership of Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico discussed joint anniversaries for the year 2018 on co-operation in the field of road and railway infrastructure, topical European issues and security.

On Monday, 28 August 2017, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic, Augusto Santos Silva, in the Straka Acadamy. He discussed with him the Directive on posting of workers, cooperation in the digital economy and digitisation of state administration, migration and cooperation within EU in the field of defence and security.
