The Czech Republic takes over the V4 presidency from Slovakia
At the European Council in Brussels, Slovakia handed over the Visegrad Group presidency to the Czech Republic. The seventh Presidency in the independent Czech history will run from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020.

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš visited the Republic of Northern Macedonia on Tuesday, 11 June 2019. During his official visit, he met with government officials, visited the Macedonian-Greek border region and met with Czech policemen who helped with the migration crisis in Northern Macedonia.

Prime Minister Babiš met with the State Counsellor of Myanmar, Suu Kyi
Today, Czech Republic Prime Minister Andrej Babiš met with the State Counsellor of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi. They spoke about expanding mutual economic cooperation, the humanitarian and development aid that has been provided to the country by the Czech Republic or about human rights. The Prime Minister also appreciated that Myanmar had decided, after 26 years, to reopen its Embassy in Prague, which would help, he believes, to develop mutual cooperation in many areas.

EU leaders discussed the post-electoral situation, according to PM Babiš, expertise should be the key to filling the positions
On Tuesday, 28 May 2019, an informal working dinner of heads of state and government of the European Union member states was held in Brussels, attended by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš. The key theme of the meeting was evaluation of the results of the weekend elections to the European Parliament and a debate on the new appointments to key positions in the EU bodies. The personnel issues should be discussed by the EU-28 leaders at the June meeting of the European Council.

On Wednesday, May 22, 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended the second meeting of constitutional officials at Prague Castle at the invitation of the President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman. Together with the Speaker of the Senate Jaroslav Kubera, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Radek Vondráček, 1st Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Jan Hamáček and Ministers of Foreign affairs Tomáš Petříček and Defense Lubomír Metnar, they called on citizens to participate actively in the forthcoming European Parliament elections.
