ADVICE, September 12, 2019: The Prime Minister Andrej Babiš will welcome Prime Ministers of the Visegrad Group and partners from Western Balkan
The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrej Babiš will host a meeting of the Prime Ministers of the Visegrad Group on Thursday September 12, 2019. This time, partners from the Western Balkan have been invited to the meeting as well. The purpose of the event is to strengthen cooperation of the two regions. Mainly current European issues will be on the agenda of the meeting, e.g. composition of the new European Commission, Multiannual financial framework after 2020, infrastructure, human resources, education, financial stability or approach to solving the climate issues.

The permanent exhibition Water and Civilisation opens in front of Kramář’s Villa
Today the Office of the Government opened a permanent outdoor exhibition called Water and Civilisation in the tree-lined alley leading to Kramář’s Villa. In the spring more than 200,000 people viewed this unique exhibition on Kampa Island in Prague, and now even more people can see it. The exhibition is open 24 hours a day and is free of charge. It was officially opened by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, Minister of the Environment Richard Brabec, Minister of Agriculture Miroslav Toman and other members of the government.

The Prime Minister inducts the new Minister of Culture Lubomír Zaorálek
On Tuesday 27 August 2019 Prime Minister Andrej Babiš inducted the new Minister of Culture Lubomír Zaorálek, who had at one time headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His induction followed the appointing of this new member of the government by President Miloš Zeman.

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš meets with ambassadors
On Monday 26 August 2019 Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended a meeting for the heads of the Czech Republic’s diplomatic missions. The Prime Minister opened the meeting with a speech, which was followed by a discussion.

Prime Minister discussed the incoming President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen
On 29 July 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, as the third prime minister in the EU, met with the incoming President of the European Commission, Ms Ursula von der Leyen. He talked about his expectations of her Commission and the priorities of the Czech government in the EU. They also discussed the nominee of the Czech Republic for the incoming European Commission and the agenda the Czech government would prefer.

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš had lunch with ambassadors
On Tuesday 16 July 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended a working lunch with ambassadors of EU Member States and candidate countries in the Czech Republic. The working lunch was organized by the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Prague, Jukka Pesola.

Prime Minister Babiš met with Malta’s Prime Minister Muscat
On 3 July 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Malta Joseph Muscat. After yesterday’s agreement on the candidates for the highest EU positions, the prime ministers talked in particular about this issue. The Prime Ministers also mentioned the preparation of the EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2021–2027, migration across the Mediterranean and the situation in Libya or the completion of the internal market.

Prime Minister discussed the EU leadership positions at the European Council
On Sunday, 30 June 2019, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš flew to an extraordinary meeting of the European Council, where he discussed the top five positions of the European institutions. The negotiations continued on Monday and Tuesday, 1 and 2 July 2019.

Prime Minister Babiš and Deputy Prime Minister Havlíček discussed cooperation in science and research in Dresden
Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended the European Forum for Science, Research and Innovation in Dresden on 24 and 25 June 2019. During his visit to Dresden he also met with the Prime Minister of the Free State of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, and the President of the German Bundestag, Wolfgang Schäuble, and met several innovative and start-up companies. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček.

EU leaders were discussing climate policy and important European positions
Prime Minister Andrej Babiš attended the European Council in Brussels on 20 and 21 June 2019. The main issues included key positions in the Union’s structures or the European Union’s 2050 climate policy. Other topics included the admission of new Member States, the Eastern Partnership and Brexit.
