The government condemned Russian aggression against Poland
The Czech Republic condemns the incursion of Polish airspace by Russian drones on Tuesday night. At its meeting on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, Petr Fiala’s government adopted a clear resolution in support of Poland following the latest provocation by the Russian Federation. Among other things, it also set the rules for calculating the amount of tax revenues that regional and municipal governments receive to provide for education in the school facilities they establish, or set the amount of insurance premiums for state insured persons next year.

A major success for the Czech Republic. Toyota to start manufacturing electric cars and batteries in Kolín
In a ceremony at the Office of Government of the Czech Republic today, Petr Fiala, the Czech Prime Minister, Lukáš Vlček, the Minister of Industry and Trade with Yoshihiro Nakata, President of Toyota Motor Europe (TME) announced the production of a new battery electric vehicle (BEV) at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic (TMMCZ).

Prime Minister Fiala: The extradition of Lucy and Selam is proof of trust in the Czech Republic and a success for Czech diplomacy
The “People and Their Ancestors” exhibition was inaugurated today at the National Museum in the presence of Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Minister of Culture Martin Baxa and Ethiopia's Minister of Tourism Selamawit Kassa. The highlight is the first ever European display of the original fossils of the famous Lucy and the baby Selam. The loan of some of the most valuable paleoanthropological exhibits in the world from the National Museum of Ethiopia is the result of long-standing diplomatic and professional efforts of the Czech government and partner institutions. The fossils dating more than 3.2 million years back will be on display in Prague until 23 October.

Prime Minister Fiala: We will develop another sanctions package in case Putin is unwilling to end the war
The results of Monday's negotiations at the White House were discussed on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, via video conference by the leaders of the countries forming the so-called Coalition of the Willing, including Prime Minister Petr Fiala. The meeting was followed by a virtual meeting of the Prime Ministers and Presidents of the EU Member States, who agreed on further joint action in cooperation with the United States of America.

Prime Minister Fiala after a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing
On Sunday, 17 August 2025, Prime Minister Petr Fiala participated via videoconference in a meeting of the leaders of the so-called Coalition of the Willing. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also joined the virtual meeting. The leaders discussed a joint approach ahead of Monday's meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump and European leaders at the White House.

Prime Minister Fiala meets with Chancellor Merz in Berlin to discuss mainly transport infrastructure
On Tuesday, 22 July 2025, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, met with the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Friedrich Merz, in Berlin. The leaders discussed the development of rail links between the two countries, strengthening defence cooperation, energy and tackling illegal migration. They also agreed on the need to continue their joint efforts in support of Ukraine. Prime Minister Fiala also praised Germany's significant contribution to our ammunition initiative.

Prime Minister Fiala after a meeting in Downing Street: Czech Republic and United Kingdom to strengthen cooperation in nuclear energy
Prime Minister Petr Fiala met with his British counterpart Keir Starmer in Downing Street, London, on Monday, 14 July 2025. The Prime Ministers signed a memorandum confirming the common will of both countries to strengthen their nuclear energy partnership and discussed support of trade and investments, defence cooperation and further support for Ukraine. During his visit to London, Prime Minister Fiala also visited the MI6 (British Secret Intelligence Service) headquarters and met with his compatriots. He awarded the Karel Kramář medals to three prominent personalities from the compatriot community.

Prime Minister Fiala after the negotiation of the Coalition of the Willing: If we want peace in Europe, we must not compromise with aggressors
On Thursday, 10 July 2025, the Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala participated in a video-conference with leaders of countries of the Coalition of the Willing hosted by the United Kingdom. The leaders discussed, in particular, the possibilities of a cease-fire, further military support for Ukraine and economic pressure on Russia. For the first time, the US representatives also attended the negotiation.

Prime Minister Fiala conducted negotiations with Polish President Duda, praising his contribution to strengthening the Czech-Polish relations
On Monday, 7 July 2025, Prime Minister Petr Fiala met with the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, whose term of the Polish Head of State is about to end in the coming weeks, in a bilateral meeting at the Kramář’s Villa. The meeting was an opportunity not only to assess the bilateral relations, but also to evaluate the cooperation between the two countries.
