Prime Minister to Attend a Ceremony on Prague’s Vítkov Hill
Today on March 1, 2007 Czech Premier Mirek Topolánek will attend the opening part of the ceremony of handing and taking over the post of the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Czech Republic in the National Memorial on Vítkov Hill in Prague.
After the presentation of historical standards the Premier will deliver a speech. This will be followed by the order of the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Czech Republic on the award of the Honorary Badge of King Pøemysl Otakar II, the Iron and Golden King, to the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and to the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. The Resolution of the Czechoslovak Union of Legionnaires on the award of the Golden Cross to Pavel Štefka, the outgoing Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Army of the Czech Republic, will also be read out. The Premier will then congratulate all the awarded officials.
The ceremony will be held in the Vítkov National Memorial, Prague 3, starting at 10:20 a.m.
